Ben Case: Stempniak Won't Be Traded for Fourth Straight Trade Deadline Deal
Lee Stempniak has been a bit of a journey man throughout his NHL career. This past summer he signed a two-year deal with the Hurricanes—this marked the 10th team that he has played for. He was first traded in the 2008-09 season and in the past eight seasons has now been moved six times. In fact, he has been traded around the trade deadline the past three consecutive seasons.
When do you think the decision to sell trade-deadline assets will be made by Ron Francis? I think RF has done a good job re-tooling with some young talent and I believe has a boat load of draft picks to boot. Let's see if he maintains course or starts exchanging some assets and draft picks for established players. Either way, it will be fun to watch.
